Is a prescription from a physician required ?
Generally, no, but in some cases such as those involving auto accident insurance, a prescription from the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician may be required. Most clients are direct referrals by an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Physician Case Manager, Adjuster, Teacher or State Councilor.

Are Assistive Technology equipment and services covered by insurance ?
With the exception of communication devices and wheelchairs, most are not covered by traditional health insurance. Computer Access, ECUs and Ergonomics are covered by some local, state or federal agencies and private health insurance companies.

ATMs comprehensive assessment process allows us to fine-tune the selection of devices, assuring that each product is specific and appropriate for the client’s needs and abilities.

Is product maintenance included? Do I have to buy a service agreement ?
ATM provides short-term maintenance as part of the setup and training process. Product questions are generally handled via phone, but at-home services are available for a fee.

Are trade-ins allowed when new models are available ?
Yes. We will inform you when new models are available, describe the new features to you, and discuss if a trade-in is appropriate.
